Skelter’s Final Duty
It is 2004. Skelter is approaching his 50th Birthday. Working in Herefordshire at an out door pursuits centre for the last 5 years has kept him in good shape. His old friend and former Royal Marines CSM, Mitchell Cameron, is terminally ill with cancer being cared for at his home on Sanibel Island, Florida. Mitch was a mentor and father figure to him.
Mitch, the son of a wealthy Scottish and black sheep of the family, inherited a considerable fortune. After retiring from the Marines, Mitch smuggled Marijuana by plane and boat from Mexico into the USA. Mitch fell in love with a Key West bartender, Maria Solina, 20 years his junior. He said nothing to her; she was and married to an drunken abusive man, but as a good catholic she could not leave him. Mitch wants Skelter to settle his affairs with a large part of his estate to go to Maria.
The head of a drug gang kidnapped Maria’s daughter. At Mitch’s request Skelter hatches a plot to get her back, funded by Mitch. He recruits Turbo and Brick who are now working freelance on the circuit to help him. It turns out to be the most complicated and difficult operation of his career, working outside the law in a foreign country with no backup.
